CBD For Sleep – How It Might Help You Get a Better Night’s Sleep
The most common sleep disorder is insomnia, and some people find that CBD helps them get better sleep. It might work by affecting something in the brain called the endocannabinoid system (ECS). The ECS is a network that controls things like pain, mood, and sleep patterns. CBD may interact with the ECS to help your body stick to a more regular sleep pattern, which might make it easier for you to fall asleep at night and wake up in the morning.
There’s more evidence that CBD For Sleep might ease anxiety, which can affect sleep. A study published in the January issue of The Permanente Journal followed 72 adults who took CBD for their anxiety or sleep problems. They found that anxiety scores improved quickly, but sleep improvements were more gradual. Some people even experienced worsened sleep over the three-month study period.

It’s not clear how CBD might benefit a specific person’s sleep because different studies use different doses and measuring methods. Some, like the one in college students, asked people to fill out questionnaires about their feelings of well-being and whether they felt their sleep had improved; other, such as the study on 103 psychiatric patients, had them sleep in a lab to measure actual sleep changes.
